Say it with cupcakes!
These cupcakes were created for the Rutherford High School Class of 1972’s 40th reunion!
Here is a low-quality version of our feature on News 12 New Jersey. We will repost if News 12 offers a higher quality video of this segment.
Please come out and pick up a Rainbow Pride cupcake to show your support. $1 from each will be donated to Garden State Equality, which is based in Montclair, NJ.
As some of you may have heard, Mike Huckabee has declared today “Chick-fil-A Day” in a misguided effort to support the bigoted restaurant chain. Additionally, a bakery in Colorado recently made headlines by refusing to make a wedding cake for a gay couple, stating that he’d rather close down his business than provide a cake for a gay wedding.
We decided it’s always better to support love rather than hate, so through the weekend we’re offering a special cupcake called Rainbow Pride. It’s a vanilla rainbow cake topped with vanilla frosting and rainbow sprinkles. Best of all, one dollar from every purchase will be donated to Garden State Equality to aid in their fight for marriage equality and gay rights in the great state of New Jersey.
The Rainbow Pride cupcakes are $4.00 each, so come stop by anytime this week and have a delicious cupcake while you support a good cause at the same time!
****** CUPCAKEFEST TOTALS ******
We are SO HAPPY to announce that Cupcakefest 2012 raised a total of __$7700__ for the Bloomfield Animal Shelter and the NJSPCA. This total includes money earned from raffle tickets, the cupcake eating contest, drinks, chips, and poop bags sold as well as monetary donations and pet supplies donated.
In addition, we will continue adding to this total by selling drinks, chips, and poop bags at our shop.
We will post regularly with updates!
We cannot thank you all enough for your support at this event. This was our biggest year yet as far as attendees and money raised. Thank you!

*** CUPCAKE EATING CONTEST DETAILS ***
The 2012 Cupcakefest cupcake eating contest will begin at 5pm this Saturday (June 23rd). All participants must arrive at 4:30pm at the very latest.
We will be accepting _10_ participants in total. Sign up begins now. Entry fee is $25 (CASH ONLY) with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Bloomfield Animal Shelter / John A. Bukowski Shelter for… and the NJ SPCA. We will probably still have slots available the day of Cupcakefest 2012, but if you are interested, we recommend signing up as soon as possible.
The rules are very simple - the first person to eat _10_ cupcakes wins. Participants will be able to keep any cupcakes they do not eat. Cupcakes will be vegan, but not gluten-free/soy-free.
The winner will receive bragging rights, a Sweet Avenue gift certificate, and an awesome cupcake tote bag FILLED to the brim with donated goodies (t-shirts, coupons, etc.)
Cupcakefest 2012 is THIS SATURDAY, June 23rd. Cupcakefest will be held at Rutherford, NJ’s Lincoln Park Band Shell located on Park Ave. in Rutherford.

A very generous anonymous Yankees fan has donated a pack of FOUR New York Mets tickets to be raffled off at Cupcakefest 2012!!! The tickets are FOUR rows back from the Mets dugout and include a parking pass. These tickets are for the September 7th game vs. the Atlanta Braves! The face value for the whole package is almost $500!
Please spread the word!!!
**** VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR Cupcakefest 2012 ****
We’re going to need volunteers to help out at Cupcakefest. We’ll be needing people for:
1. Carrying raffle prizes to the park from our shop (just down the block) and setting up table, chairs, and canopies at the park before Cupcakefest begins
2. Staffing a table to sell chips/drinks/etc with proceeds benefiting the NJ SPCA and Bloomfield Animal Shelter / John A. Bukowski Shelter for…
3. Assist the NJSPCA and Bloomfield Animal Shelter with various tasks at their tables, if needed. Also any other errands that come up during the day (running out to get ice, carrying extra drinks/chips/etc back and forth)
4. Clean up crew at the end of the even (around 7pm)
And lastly, any photographers and videographers who would be willing to take some photos and footage of the bands and event for us to use. These photos and videos help us show off the event in future years to recruit new sponsors and bands in order to make Cupcakefest even bigger every year.
Lastly, if you’ve already emailed us about volunteering and haven’t heard back, please email us again. Your message might have been overlooked, or filed as spam. We’re currently dealing with a LOT of email every day so bear with us.

Just be sure to include your name, contact info, and which of the job(s) you’re willing to help us out with. Obviously, since this is a charitable fundraiser we can’t afford to pay volunteers, but we can make sure you leave with a belly full of cupcakes.
